Shi’ite members protest in Abuja, demand release of their leader El-Zakzaky’s passport (video)

Some members of the Shi’ite Islamic sect stormed the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Thursday, March 30, to protest.

The protesting Shi’ite members asked President Muhammadu Buhari to lift the travel ban placed on the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and also release the International passports of El-Zakzaky, and his wife, Malama Zeenah, for a medical trip.

They held up banners and placards that read, “Buhari must remove the travel ban on Sheikh El-Zakzaky.”

They were however dispersed by security operatives.

This is coming after a Federal High Court rejected an application filed by Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, asking the Department of State Services to release his passport and that of his wife.
