
Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has deleted all political posts from her Instagram page.
Taking a look at Funke’s Instagram page, it was noticed that the Box Office queen deleted all political posts concerning herself and her principal, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran better known as Jandor after they contested under the People’s Democratic Party for governor and deputy governor positions in Lagos state.
Funke’s action comes hours after the 2023 gubernatorial elections took place in Lagos amidst reports of thuggery and tribalism.
Verity News had earlier that Funke Akindele lost her polling unit 019, Ita Aro square, Àga/Ijimu ward in Ikorodu, Lagos State to the incumbent governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the results collated from the polling unit, PDP secured a total of 19 votes while APC scored 77 votes. Labour Party polled 3 votes.


Funke Akindele announces political career
Recalled that in July 2022, Funke Akindele was named as the deputy governorship candidate in Lagos State under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
The mother of two via a video on her Instagram page announced that she is the running mate to the PDP governorship candidate in Lagos State Olajide Adediran known as Jandor.
Inthe video she said: “I saw it as an opportunity to help liberate and improve the wellbeing of our people, particularly the deprived youth, women and the girl child.
“My decision is not just to accept this huge responsibility but to also work tirelessly and complement Jandor’s burning desire to see our dear Lagos live up to its full potentials.”
