Gunmen, Tuesday, razed the country home of the newly appointed Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Imo State, Emeka Okonkwo, at Amagu Ihube in Okigwe local government area of the state.
Also razed was the home of Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri, a former Commissioner for Youth and Sports and that of Lands and Survey in the administrations of Governors Ikedi Ohakim and Rochas Okorocha
Obiaraeri was also Dean of the Faculty of Law, Imo State University.
The gunmen also burnt the house of a former director of the Department of State Service (DSS), Emeka Ngwu, where an old woman was said to have been caught by the raging inferno.
The Imo Police Command’s spokesman, ASP Henry Okoye, who confirmed the incident, assured that an investigation which would unravel the circumstances that led to the dastardly act would be carried out and made public.
