The first class paramount ruler of Agwan Izere, His Royal Highness Dr. Isaac Azi Waziri, who was abducted at his Palace in Shere district of Jos East in the early hours of Friday has been rescued by security operatives.
Plateau Police spokesman DSP Alfred Alabo said the monarch has been rescued and two kidnap suspects arrested by operatives.
The gunmen suspected to be bandits kidnapped the Paramount Ruler at his palace situated in Shere district of Jos East around 3am on Friday.
Chairman of Jos East Council area Ezekiel Izang, who confirmed the incident, said the gunnmen invaded the community and began shooting sporadically before gaining access to the Palace.
An eyewitness who preferred anonymity, claimed a Police Sgt on guard at the palace was shot while a civilian security attached to the Monarch was killed.
