Terrorists in their number ambushed and killed the district head of Yankuzo Alhaji Kogo Hamza Abdullahi of Tsafe Emirate in Zamfara state.
According to a resident of Yankuzo district who pleaded anonymity in a telephone interview with Blueprint, the district head was ambushed by the bandits on the way to his house from an official engagement on Friday December 9, 2022.
He explained that the bandits opened fire on his vehicle and shot him twice in an attempt to kidnapped him.
According to him, the attack on the monarch occured at around 8:30pm on the fateful day.
“Immediately after attacking him, the bandits realised that he can not be kidnapped because of the serious gunshots he sustained and left him in a cold blood situation,” the resident told Blueprint on Sunday morning.
Blueprint gathered that the district head was taken to Yariman Bakura Specialists Hospital in Gusau for urgent medical attention.
He later died on Saturday night.
Police authorities were yet to comment on the incident.
