
There was uncontrollable wailing at the site of an accident scene in Enugu metropolis, in Enugu State, where a mini bus driver was practically roasted and two others, after his vehicle collided with another on top speed.
The accident, said to have occurred at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Junction along Enugu -Abakiliki Road, Emene, Enugu on Thursday after the decease hit another vehicle trying to cross the road somersaulted before bursting into flames.
Joseph Tobby, Enugu State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who confirmed the incident, two persons in the other vehicle sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital by his men.
His words: “Somebody was crossing the road, the mini bus hit the person and somersaulted. It later burst into flames. We had to call fire service to come and extinguish the fire. The police and army were there too to help.
“Eventually, we had to take the injured to the hospital and deposited the dead to the morgue. We must find something to do about the incessant crashes along the Emene axis.”
