Professor Jegede bags fellow of Nigerian Academy of Education award

Emeritus Professor Olugbemiro Jegede has been awarded a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Education. He bagged the award at the University of Calabar, during the 36th Annual Congress of the Academy.


Professor Jegede, was the foundation Vice- Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria, the immediate past Secretary to Kogi State Government and the past Secretary General of the Association of African Universities.

Professor Jegede who has two professorial chairs as Professor of Science Education (appointed 1989) and as Professor of Open and Distance Learning (appointed 1997) gave the Keynote Address to the Nigerian Academy of Education at its 36th Annual Congress.

Emeritus Professor Olugbemiro Jegede has just assisted the Government of Sierra Leone to draft its National Policy on Open and Distance Learning. He became Emeritus Professor at the National Open University of Nigeria in May, 2015.
