How Nigerian troops foiled terror attack, slaughtered many bandits in niger

Soldiers deployed to a military camp in Sarki Pawa of Munya local government area of Niger state gallantly repelled attack by bandits on their camp, killing scores of the hoodlums in the ensued battle.

Spokesperson Coalition of Shiroro Associations (COSA) Salis M. Sabo stated this Monday in Minna. 

He said the terrorists invaded the camp at about 2.15am Monday “in an attempt to ambush our security men. Unfortunately for the terrorists, the gallant soldiers were on alert even at that late hours of the night.”

“The terrorists came in hundreds trying to dislodge the military base. The military engaged them in a gun duel which lasted for about 2 hours until the military called for reinforcement and successfully neutralized them,” he further said.

While commending the military for the tenacity in repelling the bandits, Sabo said It took the military less than 30 minutes to arrive Sarkin Pawa from Minna in response to the distress call for reinforcement. 

He said  “the energy and passion our security men are now fighting against terrorists in our locality, is unprecedented and has restored hope in the mind of the people.

“By the report at our disposal, there was no casualty recorded in the side of the military, but there is strong indication that scores of terrorists were gunned down, although the number is yet to be ascertained.”

The military and other security agencies were yet to issue statement on the incident at the time of filing this report.
