Unknown gunmen suspected to be terrorists, again on Friday kidnapped two Catholic priests in Lere local government area of Kaduna State.
This is coming barely 11 days after Rev Fr Emmanuel Silas was abducted at the rectory of St. Charles Catholic Church in Zambina, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State
The two Priests who were identified as Rev. Fr. John Mark Cheitnum and Rev. Fr. Donatus Cleopas, said to have been reportedly kidnapped to unknown destination.
The Chancellor, Catholic Diocese of Kafancha, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Uchechukwu Okolo, confirmed the incident in a statement made available to journalists saying, the sad event of their abduction occurred at about 5.45pm of July 15, 2022, shortly after the duo priests arrived for a function at Christ the king catholic Church, Yadin Garu in Lere Local government area of the state.
The Chancellor said, “With great pain that we announce to you the kidnapping of two of our Priests; Rev. Frs. John Mark Cheitnum and Donatus Cleopas.
He solicited prayers for the immediate and safe release of the Kidnapped priests unhurt.
