It appears the centre cannot hold in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the members of the party are dumping the party for what they called insensitivity arising from the Muslim-muslim ticket.
Recall that the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday announced the former governor of Borno State, Senator Kassim Shettima as his running mate.
In his reaction, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal described the choice of muslim running mate as disastrous error and a contraption.
He Said: “Now tell me which Christian will vote for the APC with the following contraption: Muslim presidential candidate (Lagos), Muslim vice presidential candidate (Borno), Muslim National Chairman (Nasarawa), Muslim Deputy National Chairman (Borno), Muslim President (Katsina); Muslim Senate President (Yobe); Muslim Speaker (Lagos); Muslim Deputy Speaker (Plateau) e.t.c.,” .
