Bodija market fire: Traders lose goods worth millions of naira

Some traders are counting their misfortunes after the fire outbreak in a part of the famous Bodija Market in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

It was gathered that the fire incident began in the early long hours of Monday.

It was discovered that the fire incident affected a few shops in the market.

Good worth millions of naira were brought down by the inferno.

Some of the traders said they lost products worth millions of naira in the disaster.

The cause for the fire incident has not been found out as at the hour of filing this report on Monday.

A staff of Oyo State Fire Service who asked not to be named, affirmed the incident Monday evening.

He said, “Yes. The incident happened at Bodija market

“You can call the director of operation to confirm”.

In any case, all efforts made by to get a response from the Director of Operations, Oyo State Fire Service, Mr Ismail Adeleke were fruitless.

The Bodija market is situated inside Aare Latosa Local Council Development Area (LCDA) which was cut out of Ibadan North Local Government Area.
