The only female APC contestant for Kogi Central senatorial seat, Hajia Ramatu Shehu Atta,

One of the aspirants for the Kogi Central APC Senatorial ticket, and the only female contestant, Hajia Ramatu Shehu Atta, popular called RSA, last week joined several other APC female contestants from across the country in a dinner with the First Lady, Dr. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja
The dinner which was at the instance of the First Lady was to further reassure and encourage female aspirants to be steadfast and take the advantage of the urgent need to be part of a new agenda for the growth and development of Nigeria.
Later, Hajia Ramatu Atta, the incoming Senator also joined the National Assembly APC screening panel of three(3) for Kogi Central Senatorial seat and has since been successfully screened .
History will be made when she eventully emerge as she will be the first female senator to represent Kogi Central in the National Assembly since the creation of the state with all past four senators being men.
Hajia Ramatu, RSA as she is fondly called is a seasoned administrator, philanthropist and a grassroots mobilizer.
The aspirant, speaking through one of her aides, Mall. Saidu Salihu said she will provide quality representation for the people of Kogi Central and promises to make education, agriculture, women and youth economic empowerment as some of the areas she would prioritise if elected into the National Assembly.
She said leadership is a process, activity based and requires taking responsibility to advance the course of humanity. It is not a title but a thing of the mindset. It isn’t about wealth.
“Men have been tested in this field and we discovered that there is room for improvement in many areas.
“God who created men and women didn’t make mistake; the mere creation of alternative to men gives room for substitution, choice and alternative replacement of actors when one is fatigued.
“The indices of governance so far has clearly shown that men are fatigued. Let’s try the available option that God has endowed us with; that is our women.
“Let’s give them a chance to complement the effort of our men in political participation. It is only fair that we reason logically and not being selfish.
“After all, men were created through women who suffered some pain to deliver men. Women have paid their dues naturally. They are best equipped to speak about the pain because they wear the shoes”.
Hajia Ramatu appeals to the youth against selling their votes as it will only amount to selling one’s conscience.
“This is the time for our women to show their capacities and competences in public glare.
“To the women, enough of your lamentations and being used as raw materials to push men into responsible position of authority. Use your votes wisely by supporting one of your own.
“Women are tired of the continuos failures of men leadership and have now realized that active participation of women in leadership will go a long way in redefining the current leadership narratives in the country.
”There are quite a number of women aspiring for one office or another in the upcoming party primaries. Look at their credibility, capacity, background, competences, experience, passion, courage and pedigrees..
“Appeal to your husbands, brothers sons, neighbours and friends who are delegates to not only give me their support but to also extend same to other credible women aspiring for different offices across the country.
Mal. Saidu Salihu however, urges all electorates in Kogi Central senatorial district to rally around this highly passionate and experienced woman, with a good track record
“Support by voting her at the APC primary election coming up in a few weeks time. Choose to support a woman of virtues and humility. Vote Ramatu Tasalla Shehu come that day and you will be proud and satisfied to enable her add value to humanity and service to the good people of Kogi Central.
“Resist temptation and intimidation. Vote wisely”.
