Former Nigerian President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall on his recent election as the Chairperson of the African Union(AU).
Jonathan also urged him to deploy his good offices to promote democracy, peaceful elections and good governance on the continent.
The former president made the call on the second day of West African Elders Forum’s Sub-regional Dialogue on Sustaining Democractic Principles in West Africa, going on in Dakar.
Jonathan who dis loses this via his Facebook page said:
“We are pleased to have been joined today by His Excellency Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal, on the second day of West African Elders Forum’s Sub-regional Dialogue on Sustaining Democractic Principles in West Africa, going on in Dakar.
“We, at WAEF, used the opportunity to formally congratulate President Sall on his recent election as the Chairperson of the African Union(AU) and encouraged him to deploy his good offices to promote democracy, peaceful elections and good governance on the continent.
