President Muhammadu Buhari a while ago approved the withdrawal of Nigerian basketball from all international competitions.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports development Ismaila Abubakar who disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja said, “The withdrawal of Nigeria was in order to concentrate efforts by the government towards revamping the sport from grassroots as well as domestic leagues which have become moribund.”
