COVID-19: Nigeria Records 24 New Infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Sunday reported 24 new COVID-19 cases from six states and the Federal Capital Territory. 

The agency did not report any additional COVID-19 related death. 

The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Monday.

According to data from the agency, Abia recorded 7 cases, followed by Lagos – 6, Edo – 4, FCT -3, Kaduna – 2, Osun 1 and Rivers – 1. 

The 24 new infections reported have brought the total number of confirmed cases to 254,525 while 249,013 people have recovered and have been discharged. 

With no COVID-19 related deaths recorded for the day, the death toll from the virus still stands at 3,142. 

The agency added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
