The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Rt. Honourable Aminu Bello Masari, on Tuesday inaugurated a visitation panel for the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina, at the Council Chamber of the Government House, Katsina.

The panel had Prof. Sadik Muhammed as its Chairman, while Prof. Danjuma Maiwada, a renowned scholar from Bayero University, Kano and Alhaji Umaru Audi, an experienced educational administrator from the Teachers’ Service Board (TSB) of the state, as members.

Other members of the panel were Hajiya Indo Muhammad, an experienced educational administrator, and a veteran journalist, Alhaji Adamu Ladan.

The Governor justified the appointment by his personal knowledge of each individual member of the panel. “With the exception of one of you, I have known each of you for decades,” he said.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Higher Education, Dr. Bashir Ruwan-Godiya, who made preamble to the inauguration, cited sections 19 and 20 of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University Law, as the enabling law that empowered the Governor to constitute the panel for the University.

“His Excellency has made appointment of these personalities at a time when the university needs some direction due to the critical issues it is currently facing”.

He also expressed optimism that the panel would use their wealth of experience for development of the university.
In his remark, the Chairman of the panel thanked the Governor for finding them worthy of the appointment. “We thank Your Excellency for reposing confidence in us. With the calibre of people on the panel, we will do our best,” he assured.

He expressed his determination to put absolute dedication and commitment on the assignment.
