Super Eagles  Striker Taiwo Awoniyi  was  on for the entire 90 mins as  his German side Union Berlin lost 3-0 to second place Borrussia Dortmund. 

Awoniyi had a couple of chances but they weren’t converted, he however got a warning after he shoved Axel Witsel  and lounged  at Jude Bellingham . Union Berlin fell to sixth position after that loss to Dortmund.

Paul Onuachu

Mercurial Nigerian goal poacher Paul Onuachu scored his 14th league goal for Belgian club Genk after latching on a loose ball to get a  goal on the night. His goal came in the second half, after  his first half goal was ruled  out for offside by VAR. It was Onuachu’s  first ever goal against Standard Liege after playing against them  seven times.

Victor Osimhen

Gangling Nigerian Striker Victor Osimhen  was on for 84 minutes and helped Napoli secure an away draw against Inter Milan. Osimhen was brought down in the 18 yard box and the resultant penalty was converted by team mate Lorenzo Insigne. Osimhen had one shot blocked, another went off target , whilst Inter Milan Goal Keeper  Samir Handanovic saved another.  His overall performance got him a 6.5 ratings.

Moses Simon

Dazzling winger Moses Simon  scored a sublime free kick  to earn his French ligue 1 side FC Nantes  all three points in their match against Stade de Reims on Sunday afternoon. Moses Simon’s  freekick goal meant that he has taken his tally to 3 goals and 6 assists from 20 appearances this season for club FC Nantes.Advertisment

Freddie Ladapo

Flying Eagles Invitee Freddie Ladapo  scored a goal  to  help his EFL side defeat  Sheffield Wednesday  by 2-0 at Hilsborough. Ladapo  latched on to a rebound to tap in after another team mare had initially headed at goal from a cornerkick. Ladapo, former Crystal palace striker was delighted to be on the scorer’s sheet. He has scored a total of 13 goals in all competitions this season.

Maduka  Okoye

Super Eagles current no 1 goalkeeper Maduka Okoye kept a clean sheet in Sparta Rotterdam’s 1-0 win  over Williem ii in their Dutch first divison game over the weekend. Before the win , Okoye had conceded 27 goals in 17 league games with no clean sheet in the last 5 games. Maduka  however, had a quiet evening as there were no significant threats from the opponents.

Asisat Oshoala

Super Falcons  Striker Asisat Oshoala was on for Barcelona as she helped secure a 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao. Oshoala fired home the second goal of the game in the 5oth minute after latching on a loose ball from close range. The goal was registered as her 7th league goal of the season and that leaves her one short of her highest -scoring campaign.Advertisment

Rasheedat Ajibade

Another Super Falcons striker Rasheedat Ajibade scored a brace and helped her club Atletico  Madrid secure a 5-0 drubbing of Sevilla. Ajibade scored two quick goals in the 32nd and 37minutes to increase her Club side’s goals to 4 in the first half.  Atletico Madrid are now placed 4th on the log a point behind champions league spot.Advertisment

Alex Iwobi

Super Eagles Midfielder Alex Iwobi was handed a starting shirt by Frank Lampard as Everton won its first game first time  in over 15 games. Iwobi’s contribution in Everton’s win has been hailed as fantastic and very helpful. Iwobi has only just a goal this season but has now promised to keep doing his best to score more goals. Everton coach Frank Lampard has promised to keep starting him  should  he maintain his fine form.
