The prime minister and his wife announced the birth of a “healthy baby girl” at a London hospital.
“Both mother and daughter are doing very well. The couple would like to thank the brilliant NHS maternity team for all their care and support,” a spokeswoman for the couple said.
Their first child, Wilfred, was born in April last year while Johnson was recovering after falling seriously ill with COVID-19.
Johnson is currently under intense pressure after being forced to launch an inquiry into claims about a Christmas party at Downing Street last year.
Also on Thursday morning, the Conservative Party has been fined after failing to properly declare a donation which paid for renovation of the Johnsons’ flat.
