
Professor Charles Soludo of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) will take over from incumbent Willie Obiano as the next governor of Anambra state.
This is after he won the just concluded governorship election in the state with 112, 229 votes to defeat his closest rival Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 53, 807 votes, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came third with 43,285 votes.
Soludo’s votes increased after Tuesday’s supplementary election in Ihiala local government area where he won in all polling units and wards where election held.
The INEC returning Officer, Professor Florence Obi, declared the final result early Wednesday said APGA won 19 out of 21 LGAs.
