Freelance Broadcasters’ Association decorates Oyetola as Patron

we’re committed to showing right leadership in all undertakings – Oyetola

The Osun State Chapter of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN), on Thursday, honoured Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the State of Osun as the Association’s patron.

This, according to the Association, was in line with the some of the guidelines set by the Association’s Constitution.

This is as Governor Oyetola restated his commitment to showing the right leadership in all the undertakings of his administration.

The Chairman of the Osun Chapter of FIBAN, Otunba Adekunle Israel Abolade, in his remark, described Oyetola as a leader that is doing well and deserving of recognitions for his good works.

In his acceptance remark, Oyetola lauded FIBAN for its creative offerings and impact on the society over the years, adding that FIBAN is not just a footnote organization but one that should earn citizens’ collective support on account of its onerous roles as an important agent of socialization.

Oyetola, who was represented by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, also appreciated the honour of the conferment as the Association’s Patron.

According to Oyetola: “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the leadership and indeed all the members of FIBAN in Osun for this honour. I take this honour as your kind willingness to associate with the modest achievements of our Administration and our sincere and determined quest for the revitalisation of the Osun economy.

“Membership of FIBAN, no doubt, accords the broadcast professional the unique privilege of associating with an elite club of social engineers who, by reason of their diverse creative offerings, impact the society in very significant ways.

“In an age where media organizations are plagued by many distractions, FIBAN stands tall as an important gap-filler in sustaining the ideals relevant and required for keeping our society going. In other words, FIBAN is not just a footnote organization but one that should earn our collective support on account of its onerous roles as an important agent of socialization.

“This support is especially necessary at a time such as this when our society is witnessing an alarming and absolutely disconcerting  degradation of values and norms, and indeed all that make up our rich culture.

“To arrest this downward slide, FIBAN’s roles are no doubt, clearly cut-out. This is because as privileged members of our society, you owe it a duty to be at the vanguard of churning out creative and enduring contents that strengthen our unity and inculcate the right values in our citizens.

“Aware of your roles as valuable guardians of our culture, I heartily urge you to rededicate yourselves to the service of our nation by guarding jealously our shared values and ethos.

“As an Administration that is built on the Omoluabi ethos, we are fully committed to showing the right leadership in all our undertakings and supporting you to entrench our cultural values”, Oyetola said.
