Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, on Wednesday forwarded the name of Lauretta Onochie, an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari and five others as Federal Commissioners to the Senator Kabiru Gaya-led Senate Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
At plenary, Lawan gave the committee two weeks to carry out legislative action on the list and report back.
The screening and perhaps subsequent confirmation is taking place despite public concerns after Onochie was appointed to serve as INEC top official.
