Dr Omede Idris, CIK, FNMA, has called on leaders and the led to synergise for the betterment and progress of the country. This was contained in his Sallah message Nigerians.
The Past President of Nigerian Medical Association and Past President of Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria noted that in order to attain peace and development, we must imbibe the good attributes we want in others. Dr Omede stated:
“The month of Ramadan, is the 9th month in the Islamic calendar of obligatory fast. It is a month of spiritual rejuvenation, fortified appeal, requests, supplications and call on our creator and Lord, Allah, the Lord of the universe to intervene in our individual, states, nation and global affairs specifically and generally.
“As the nation battles and struggles through various moments of yet unending and frightening challenges, to live, have become severer now more than ever before.
May the blessing, knowledge, wisdom, mercy, peace, safety, success, favour and blessing of the month of Ramadan, be upon us as individuals, our communities, states, nation and the world at large.
“As mortals and human beings, may we be on the right path through our attributes, positive change of attitude and disposition to life, life activities, approach and drives to life. Our Lord is always merciful, beneficent and oft forgiving of our fallibility. We must strive to work and create peace, tranquility and development, through our actions and inactions, with divine guidance and directions.
“Governance and governance structure revolve around the leaders and the led. There must be synergy, understanding, a meeting point and appropriate coordination, through knowledge, accountability, honesty, fairness, just and firmness. These are precursors for attainment of desirable impact, result orientated administration and management.
“Many of our states and the nation in general, require these attribute and characteristics for results and impact now more than ever before. May we be the change agents that we desire for positive impact, growth and development in various spheres.”
Dr Omede is also former Commissioner of Health Kogi state.
