Bode George vows to dump Nigeria if Tinubu becomes President

A former National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, Friday, described as huge national insult for Bola Ahmed Tinubu to aspire to become Nigerian President, let alone win election into the office,

To this end, George vowed that he would cease to be a Nigerian, in the case the former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), attain the nation’s number one citizenship.

George, former military governor himself, who once went to jail for fraud as Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Ports Authority, but later absolved by the Supreme Court, while speaking on Arise Television morning programme, reiterated his call on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to go after the former governor over alleged fraud while in office.

Tinubu is particularly being accused of complicity in an alleged series of fraud committed by Alpha Beta Consulting, a tax company allegedly owned by him firm, solely in charge of collecting revenue for Lagos State Government for more than two decades.

“I’ve talked about it and I’m still saying publicly that the EFCC should go urgently and investigate Alpha Beta Company owned by him,” George told the TV crew on Friday.

He added: “Let me say it in very clear language, to me it’s an insult to de-civilise the people of this country who are committed to national development that the likes of him want to run this country.

“We must make sure that they investigate him. He’s junketing all over the place—an insult to the civilised minds who work so hard in this country. If, by whatever yardstick, he becomes the head of state, I will cease to be a Nigerian and I’m not joking.”
