Suspected armed herders have killed a man and his wife at Udei branch in Mbabai ward of Guma local government area of Benue state.
The man, whose name was given as Igba Faga, and his wife were on Tuesday evening macheted to death while returning from their farm on a motorbike.
Special Adviser on Security to the Benue Governor, Col. Paul Hemba (rtd), told newsmen in Makurdi on Wednesday that suspected armed herders had laid ambush on the couple and hacked them to death on their way home from the farm.
Hemba said the deceased rode on their own motorcycle when the attackers pounced on them, killing both on the spot, adding that the bodies of the deceased had been evacuated by their family members for burial just as he described the attack as one attack too many.
