
A clergyman Rev. Okwudili Okonkwo and family members were Saturday abducted by gunmen.
Later on, his wife and son were released.
Narrating how the incident occurred, the wife (whose name was not disclosed) said the unfortunate incident occured at Arondizuogu near Okigwe local government area of the state when they were on their way back from a wedding ceremony.
The heavily armed abductors have since announced a ransom of N30 million for the clergyman’s release.
When contacted, the Imo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the incident.
He however, said investigation was ongoing on the incident, as well as on several other kidnap cases recorded recently in the state.
