A parish priest of John’s Catholic Church Obinomba, Ukwuani was on Monday evening abducted by gunmen
The cleric simply identified as Rev. Fr. Harrison, was kidnapped at about 8p.m. at a bad spot on Oria-Abraka, Ethiope East LGA.
The cleric was returning from Warri in a Highlander Jeep when he was kidnapped, according to the Nation.
The kidnappers shot sporadically into the air to scare away passers-by at the scene.
It was learnt that the cleric’s car was abandoned after the victim was whisked away.
A member of the local vigilance group, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said they (vigilance group) heard gun shots, but regretted they could not combat the hoodlums with inferior guns in their possession.
Delta state Police Command spoeksman DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident.
