
Up to 50 people have been reportedly kidnapped in an early morning attack on Bassa community in Shiroro local government area of Niger state.
The bandits stormed the community in large numbers in motorcycles in the early hours of Thursday, according to the Nation.
The people were getting set for the day’s activities, which were disrupted by the bandits, causing them to run into the bush for safety.
The co-convener Concerned Shiroro Youths, Sani Abubakar Kokki confirmed the attack, describing the bandits as terrorists.
He lamented the bandits attacked the town, causing mayhem on unsuspecting peaceful, unarmed and defenceless locals.
He, however, stated that the number of people kidnapped is not yet certain but said that they were very many.
