Breaking: Heartland Club Players, Officials trapped in Katsina Hotel over failure to pay bills

Imo state-owned Heartland football club are now trapped in Katsina hotel, day after playing their first 2020/21 season match of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) versus Katsina United.

This was revealed on Tuesday morning, shortly after the hotel management demanded payment of their accommodation and other expenses before they will be allowed to leave the premises.

The current incident is happening after the management of the Imo state-owned football team owed players and officials months of salary.

As at the time of filling this report, the club was yet to make any official statement.
