A student of Federal College of Education, Okene was killed on Lokoja-Okene road around Osara on Sunday by kidnappers operating on the road.
His name was given as Muhammed Jamiu of the department of Islamic and Social Studies.
The young man was returning from Katsina where he had spent the long lockdown holiday when their vehicle ran into the kidnappers.
He was due to resume this week.
