Detectives from the Kano Police Command on Friday uncovered decomposing corpse of a woman believed to been locked up in a solitary room by husband for three days.
The latest incident of unlawful incarceration occurred at Mariri Quaters, outskirt of Kano Metropolis.
The stench from the decomposing corpse compelled neighbours to alert the security agents who conducted a sweeping operation that led to the discovery.
The police had since evacuated the corpse to an unnamed health facility in the city for postmortem.
DSP Abdullahi Haruna , Spokesman of the Kano Police Command, while confirming the incident to reporters in Kano disclosed that investigation has been launched into the matter.
