“We reviewed Kano masterplan to suit modern time,” says Ganduje

The construction of Dangi three-layered interchange flyover, with underpass and surface-level modern road, among other state-of-the-art flyovers beautifying the ancient city of Kano coupled with other rural based infrastructure, are part of the manifestation of the review of masterplan.

This was disclosed by governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje during a project inspection of Dangi flyover, Sheikh Qariballah Sheikh Nasuru Kabara flyover and Kofar Mata flyover, Friday evening.

“Though, the state like all other states in the federation, are faced with the challenges posed by the global pandemic of COVID-19, we should not allow it to be a stumbling block between us and development”, he said .

While the 4 billion Naira Dangi flyover has reached almost hundred percent completion stage and would be commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The nature of the projects, is in line with the president’s administration’s commitment towards practically ensuring that the Kano Masterpan becomes a reality and for the state to wear a modern look”, he said.

Together with the newly inaugurated Commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, Idris Garba Unguwar Rimi, with other commissioners, governor Ganduje assured that, he would do everything humanly possible to see that the facelift process is not halted for whatever reason.

Sheikh Qariballah flyover, which has reached an appreciable stage, is designed to link the two sides of Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital.

The infrastructural development, according to the governor, is expected to accentuate the reviewed masterplan.

“If you were in Kano before we took over power in 2015 and have a cause to visit Kano today, you will surely miss your road or link to your destination. The facelift is of global standard.”

“Apart from beautifying the business area, the flyover around Kofar/Kwari market will also decongest the areas that link Kwari market with Kofar Wambai market and Singer market,” he explained.

The company handling the project TRIACTA Nigeria Limited, assured the governor and the people of the state of quality work and in tandem with global best practice.
