COVID-19: Osun records 19 new cases

Osun recorded 19 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 358.

The Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr Rafiu Isamotu,  made this known in a statement on Monday in Osogbo that the new cases were contacts of previous confirmed cases.

Isamotu stated that 10 patients were  discharged from the state’s isolation centre after they had fully recovered from the virus.

The commissioner noted that with the new cases, the number of confirmed cases in the state rose to 358, with 184 active cases.

He added that the state successfully treated and discharged 166 patients, while eight deaths were recorded

He appealed to residents not to ignore the observance of all precautionary measures by the state government to contain the spread of the virus.

He reiterated the importance of frequent washing of hands with soap and clean water or use of alcohol based hand sanitiser, wearing of face mask in public space, and observing two feet social distance at gatherings. (NAN)
