Emir of Daura, Dr Alhaji Umar Farouk has suspended weddings, Islamic schools, sports and other social gatherings in Daura emirate due to Coronavirus pandemic.
He disclosed this on Saturday in his palace in Daura while addressing religious leaders, district and village heads on the need to practice of good hygiene and social distancing.
The Emir also said that the wedding of his daughter, which was scheduled for March 28 has been cancelled.
He said people should be vigilant and focus more on personal hygiene to avoid the contracting the Coronavirus.
He said the development was part of the emirate’s effort to protect the safety of its people.
