Residents of Nekede Community in Owerri West Local Council of Imo State and environs have heaved a sigh of relief following the recapturing of a giant male hyena and its return to the Imo Zoological Garden and Wild Life in Nekede.

General Manager of the park, Francis Abioye, while confirming the latest development said that the animal, which was discovered to have dug a deep underground hole and escaped from the cage, was caught by wild life experts in the Zoo about six hours after it ran away.
He expressed regret that the escape caused panic to the residents within the period, expressing joy that no one was either injured or killed as a result.
