Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state Tuesday said he has invited President Muhammadu Buhari to commission the newly built Ore Flyover and Ondo state industrial hub as part of activities to mark his three years in office on February 24, 2020 even as he said he did not discuss the controversial Amotekun with the president.
Speaking to State House correspondents after a close-door meeting with the president, Akeredolu said the Ore flyover cost the state government about N5 billion, stressing that it is an iconic project.
He said south-west and other parts of the country would benefit a lot from the industrial hub in the state.
The governor said he did not discuss the controversial Amotekun, a regional security outfit of south-western states, with the president.
He said south-west governors were already in discussions with the Inspector-General of Police over the matter, and there was no need to bother the president about it.
On the N30,000 minimum wage, Akeredolu said the state government is committed to ensuring that civil servants are adequately taken care of.
He said civil servants in the state are the happiest in the country, as the state government has since commence payment of workers entitlement in line with the new regime.
