Okigwe Senatorial Zone of Imo State was thrown into mourning following the reported death of one of its son Ndubuisi Emenike, the Action Alliance Candidate in the 2019 senatorial election in the area.
Emenike was accidentally shot by a security aide who is a personnel of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps on his way back from a political meeting on Sunday.
The renowned philanthropist turned politician was rushed to Federal Medical Center, Owerri where he was confirmed dead.
The police spokesperson in the state, SP Orlando Ikeokwu confirmed the incident and disclosed that the NSCDC official was already in police custody.
