President Muhammadu Buhari has commended Governor Bello Muhammad for return of peace to Zamfara State in a very short period of time just as the Federal University, Gusau also honoured him with a special award of excellence.
President Buhari who spoke as a Visitor to the maiden convocation ceremony of the Federal University Gusau through Professor Hafiz Abubakar also said the situation in Zamfara is worth emulating by other states who face simiIar challenges, Zailani Bappa, the governor’s Special Adviser ( Public Enlightenment, Media and Communication) said in a statement.
During the occasion the Chancellor of the University, who was just inaugurated at the occasion, His Royal Highness, Ezeogu Ewa Elechi, the Isu- Oha of Ohiora also commended the Zamfara State Government for being a good and hospitable host to the University.
Similarly, the Vice- Chancellor of the University, Professor Magaji Garba said that only God can reward the Governor for his immense support to the University.
The University celebrated its maiden combined convocation for 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 academic sessions. It was attended by dignitaries including the ZAMFARA State Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun).
Other dignitaries include the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar, the Emir of Kano Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, Emirs of Zamfara State led by the Emir of Katsina Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello, former Governor of Zamfara State Alhaji Mahmood Aliyu Shinkafi, among others
