Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has announced scholarship awards to children of slain Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman in Michika Local Government Area of the state, Rev. Lawan Andimi.
He announced the scholarship when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the late cleric.
He also promised to support the bereaved family.
Fintiri said his administration would provide other necessary palliatives to the family.
The governor was also at the headquarters of Andimi’s church, the Eklissiyar ‘Yan’uwa A Najeriya (EYN) at Kwarhi in Hong Local Government Area of the state.
He condemned the murder of the cleric, consoled members of the church and urged them to remain courageous.
Fintiri said his administration would ensure the safety of the residents, adding that he had given security agencies adequate support to protect the people and their property.
EYN National President, Rev. Joel Billi, thanked the governor for identifying with the church during its moment of grief.
Two Christian leaders and a journalist were recently killed in Adamawa State within one week, including Rev. Andimi.
