
The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna State has upheld the election of Abdullahi Ganduje as duly elected Governor of Kano State.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate had on April 11 filed a petition at the Appeal Court against the October 2nd judgement of the election petition tribunal.
The election petition tribunal had upheld the election of Ganduje of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the March 24 supplementary election held in some electoral wards in Kano State.
However, in a unanimous judgement delivered on the petition on Friday, a five-man panel of the court led by Justice Tijjani Abubakar dismissed the appeal by the PDP and its governorship candidate, Abba Yusuf.
Meanwhile, The Jos division of the Court of Appeal has reserved judgements into an appeal filed by Senator Jeremiah Useni of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), challenging the election of Governor Simon Lalong, incumbent Plateau governor.
The five-man panel of judges presided over by Justice J.O.Bada, further reserved judgements into two separate cross-appeals filed by governor Lalong and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC.), Blueprint is reporting.
Similarly, the appellate court heard and reserved judgement into the appeal of Ex- governor Muhammad Abubakar of the All Progressives Congress (APC), challenging the election of Bauchi state governor Bala Muhammad of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
