The deputy speaker of Taraba House of Assembly Muhamed Danladi Gwampo, was on Monday impeached by his colleagues for being incompetent.
The deputy speaker was immediately replaced by the majority leader Charles Maijankai. While a former majority leader in the 8th assembly Albaso Kunini was made the majority leader.
In a motion moved by the member representing Lau state constituency Albaso Kunini, during plenary, the House resolved that Gwampo was incompetent to serve as a presiding officer.
Speaking to Journlists, the new deputy speaker Charles Maijankai, promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him by the members.
Similarly the new majority leader Albaso Kunini pledged to discharge his duties according to the tenants of the Nigeria constitution and the rules of the house.
Meanwhile, the impeached deputy speaker Gwampo, refused to talk to press men.
