The move by sacked Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, to reclaim his senatorial seat was put on hold Tuesday.
This followed the Court of Appeal, Abuja, decision to reserved judgments in three separate appeals against the August 23, 2019 ruling of an election petitions tribunal that sacked Melaye.
The three-man panel of the Court of the Appeal led by Justice Abubakar Yahaya, said as it reserved ruling on matter that the date of judgments, when fixed, would be announced to the parties through their counsels.
Melaye, his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had after the tribunal judgment filed the three appeal to challenge the verdict.
The Kogi State National/State Assembly Election Tribunal in Abuja, led by Justice A.O. Chijioke, had on August 23, in a split two-to-one decision ordered INEC to conduct a fresh election within 90 days.
The tribunal delivered the judgment on a petition filed by Smart Adeyemi, and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
They had contended that the February 23, 2019, was marred by irregularities.
