After spending nearly four years in incarceration without trial, leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat, have departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to India for medical treatment.

The couple’s trip to India was made possible by the order of the Kaduna State High court granting El-Zakzaky and his wife leave to undergo treatment at a hospital in India.

El-Zakzaky and others are standing criminal trial before a High Court Court in Kaduna on charges bordering on terrorism.
