The newly appointed Federal Permanent Secretary, office of the Head of Service (HoS) Engr. Nadungu Gagare has recalled with nostalgia how as a child, he trekked for about 26 km in rural Kachia community in Kaduna State, to pursue education.
Engr Gagare, who, in an emotionally laden voice, said as a little boy, he often accompanied his sister to school and insisted on staying in class despite being scolded, was later allowed by the school to receive lessons which helped him in those formative years to become who he is, later in life.
He said his parents were not educated while he was growing up, and he had to work on farms and got paid to sustain himself in school.
According to him, it has become imperative for him to go down memory lane, in order to let the public know, especially the youthful generation, that with hard work, resilience and faith in God, everyone can become anything good in life.
He spoke at the weekend in Kaduna, during a grand reception organised in his honour, as a newly appointed Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil service, where he promised to keep making the citizens and Kaduna State proud, by remaining focused and committed in the discharge of his responsibilities and duties attached to his new position.

” Without God, nothing can be done, ” he said. ” I give God all the glory and pray that He sees me through” he said.
