“I stand against replacing one’s father’s name in marriage” – Sultana Nazif, Emir of Kano’s daughter-in-law

Sultana Nazif, the new daughter-in-law of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, said she will be sticking to her maiden name.

The 24-year-old daughter of Senator Suleiman Nazif from Bauchi and Emir Sanusi’s son, Ashraf Adam, got married in August 2024.

Sultana, who disclosed this in a question and answer session with her followers on Wednesday night, February 19, 2025, said she doesn’t believe in women replacing their father’s name after marriage.
