Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has approved the appointment of Haruna Danyaya as the 17th Emir of Ningi, elevating him to a first-class traditional ruler.
The announcement was made Sunday through a letter signed by the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Ibrahim Kashim.
The governor expressed confidence in the new Emir’s ability to uphold and advance the legacy of his late father.
“We believe that Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya will continue the noble work of his predecessor in fostering unity, peace, and development in the Ningi Emirate and throughout Bauchi State,” he stated.
The governor also offered his heartfelt condolences on the passing of the former Emir and extended warm congratulations to the new Emir.
“I pray for the peaceful repose of the late Emir’s soul and wish the new Emir a long, healthy, and successful reign,” he added.
Haruna Yunusa Danyaya, born in Ningi in 1956, previously served as the Chiroman of Ningi.
The Bauchi State Government reiterated its commitment to supporting traditional institutions as vital components in maintaining peace and progress within the state.
