A convoy belonging to the governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi, collided with a group of motorists, resulting in the death of three individuals who were residents of Ezza South Local Government Area.
The victims were driving on the road leading to Muhammadu Buhari International Airport when they were hit by the governor’s advance team.
According to reports, the convoy had just dropped off Umahi at Onueke airport and was on its way back to town when the accident occurred.
The incident happened shortly after the commissioning of a flyover named after Prince Arthur Eze in Abaomege, Onicha local government area.
Governor Umahi had left for Abuja soon after the commissioning, while Prince Arthur Eze and deputy governor Eric Kelechi Igwe stopped at the accident scene to console the victims’ families and ordered them to be taken to the hospital before leaving for Enugu state.
