Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, has stated that the turnout in her polling unit is unbelievable.
Okonjo-Iweala stated this after casting her vote at her polling unit in Umuda Isingwu village, Umuahia, Abia State, on Saturday.
According to her, it was the largest turnout she had ever seen in all the years she voted in the village.
Okonjo-Iweala, who had earlier complained that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were not present when she arrived at her polling unit since 7 am, wrote on Twitter: “The INEC officers finally arrived. My husband and I have just voted.
“The turnout is unbelievable, the largest I have ever seen in all the years I have voted in the village. Young and very old all are here.”
