
Association for Environmental Impact Assessment of Nigeria (AEIAN) will hold its Conference on 23rd and 24th November 2022 at the Lagos State University Hall.
The theme of the Conference is “Impact Assessment: Climate Change, towards creating a sustainable environment and overall contribution to economic development.”

SUB-THEMES of the conference:
1. Climate Change Resilience and the Nigerian Environment.
2. Recurrent issues in/on Disaster, Conflict, Insecurity, and Resource Efficiency.
3. Nigerian Institutional and Policy Drives for environmental sustainability and climate change.
4. Mainstreaming Innovative Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Considerations into the Nigerian Impact Assessment Process.
5. Best Practices to Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation
Speaking to Journalists in Abuja yesterday, the President of the Association, Dr. Ahmed Sanda said, “Our association as the umbrella body of Impact Assessment Practitioners in Nigeria, decided to hold this year’s conference to align with the federal government policy to create sustainable environment for economic development.”
AEIAN as an affiliate of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) and formerly known as IAIA-Nigeria, the association governs the conduct and practice of environmental and social impact assessment in Nigeria.
The highlight during the conference will be the ushering in a new executive to take over from the present executive team led by the cerebral Dr. Ahmad Sanda.
AEIAN as a body is to seek to bring together all professionals, experts, advocates, academics, students, civil servants, and policy makers’ etc, working in the environmental and social impact assessment fields in Nigeria, to deepen the discourse on the environment and sustainable development.
The body is also to provide a platform for the development and sharing of knowledge, innovation and best practices towards the effective implementation of sustainable development policies and programmes in Nigeria.
This year’s conference theme is a rallying call towards creating a sustainable environment and overall contribution to economic development.
The event which will be attended by members of the association across the country includes inspiring contributions from Acadia, experts and professional bodies.
