Another Premier League player in police net for sex crime

The UK Police confirmed that a Premier League footballer was arrested on suspicions of rape, informing that the player is unable to be named for legal reasons and is currently in custody and being quizzed by officers

According to the report, the player was taken into custody early hours of Monday morning.

The identity of the player who is currently being quizzed for a sex crime which he allegedly committed towards the end of June is yet to be revealed for legal reasons it was gathered.

The player is said to be in his late 20s and is currently in custody being questioned over an alleged attack which is said to have taken place towards the end of June reports the Daily Mail. The identity of the footballer cannot be revealed for legal reasons at present but more information is likely to surface over the coming days and weeks.

This is coming on the heels of similar allegations levied against two other premier league stars, Mason Greenwood and Yves Bissouma who were arrested last year. The Man United star is still on bail for his alleged rape crime. However, Bissouma has since been declared not guilty of the crime.

The arrest was contained in a statement released by the Metropolitan Police on 4 July, alleging that the yet-to-be-identified soccer star raped a lady in her 20s.

The statement read in part, “It was reported the alleged rape happened in June 2022. On 4 July, a 29-year-old man was arrested at an address in Barnet on suspicion of rape and taken into custody where he remains.

“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
