Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) National Women Committee in collaboration with Police Officer’s Wife Association (POWA) have empowered the widows of the Nigeria Police Force.
This history making event took place on Thursday May 12, 2022 at the POWA hall opposite the Force Headquarters, Abuja, Oche Michael, PCRC FCT PRO revealed in a statement.
The event was graced by highly placed dignitaries like the Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba ably represented by the FPRO Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the PCRC National Chairman Ambassador Farouk Abdullahi Maiyama (Yerima Jega) and his entourage, Honorable Minister of Police Affairs Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi, Honorable Minister of Women Affairs Pauline Tallen, National President POWA Hajiya Hajara Usman Alkali Baba and her entourage, PCRC National Women Committee Cordinator Princess Nana Dahiru and her entourage, Mrs Nwora of Efab Properties, Mrs Adetola de King of Adron Homes, among many others.
The dignitaries in their deferent remarks expressed their unreserved gladness for the success of the laudable project while several projects accomplished by the IGP Usman Alkali Baba were mentioned by the FPRO and POWA president respectively to the hearing of general public.
The items donated for the empowerment of the widows of the fallen heroes of the Nigeria Police includes Industrial sewing machines, regular sewing machines, freezers, grinding machines, ovens, hair dryers and many more.
Smiles and uncontrollable tears of joy were noted on the faces of the recipients while some stated that this show of selfless love has not been experienced since the demise of their husbands over the years.
While appreciating and praying for the sponsors of this noble project through the platform of the PCRC National Women Committee, the National Cordinator, Princess Nana Dahiru says that the target of the recipients is 300 but about 69 has just been accomplished while the next batch will be completed in due time.
